GMC Syclone and Typhoon, S-10 4wd/AWD tubular upper and lower control arms made for the coil over shock upgrade to improve drivability, handling and braking. These arms are considerably lighter than the factory control arms saving weight and improving on performance. All JSM arms come standard powdercoated black.
This arms are designed for lowered vehicles due to the improved ball joint angles. They will not work for lifted vehicles.
Control arms can be purchased with or without hardware (Moog balljoints & ES bushings) and with the option of a complete kit with shocks. We pair our kit with Viking Warrior double adjustable shocks. If you would like to discuss shock upgrade options, please contact us before purchasing.
All suspension kits are made to order, please allow time for fabrication and powder coating.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Why JSM Arms -vs- XYZ Brand: JSM roots date back to 1998 when Jeff purchased 1992 Typhoon #1295. Since then that truck went from stock, to extreme. Part of that change evolved into many modifications that are currently standards. (4l80e, coilover suspension, etc.) In 2001 the coilover arm as you see started development. Shown at the SyTy nats shortly after for the first time, along with a test Syclone. That test truck was driven to/from nats, driven aggressively and then taken apart and evaluated. Changes were made to the design, with minor ones happening since. Since then we have seen various levels of “copy’s” or similar designs made thru the years. Going on 20 years now of this design, we can only guess several million miles have been driven on our arms and I have yet to be informed of any failures of our arms. In addition we tig weld every product we make, from the same welder we have used for parts flying on the space station. If you buy somewhere else, ask them what development process did they go to, and how they came up with the design.
I got my kit, but it appears I am missing the metal sleeves: Our complete kits all ship with Energy suspension bushing kits. We press in the metal sleeves and rubber for you, and include the metal sleeves for the lowers along with lubrication. For the upper A Arms, unfortunately Energy Suspension does not include the metal sleeves, and you must re-use them from your stock upper a arms, or salvage them from new stock replacement bushings.
Will these work on 2nd Gen S10: Yes, with the exception of the sway bar. You will need to use a 1st gen sway bar.
Can I use this on my lifted 4wd: No, we have modified the ball joint angle specific for lowered AWD and 4WD applications to improve ball joint travel. Our kit is designed for stock to up to 3″ lower than stock ride height of a Syclone/Typhoon.
How much weight does your kit save: Our front kit complete weighs approximately 44 lbs. The stock lower a arms and torsion bars weigh 84lbs per side. Upper arms weigh approx. 10lbs. Total stock weight is about 100 lbs, so total weight savings is around 56lbs for the front.
